2019 Playoff Preview and Predictions

The 2019 playoff picture is set and for the first time in a long time, the WSLOC trophy is completely up for grabs. There is no clear-cut favorite going into the tournament, with the only clear advantages being first-round byes for Robbie Rice and Albhino Rhinos. Sons Plumbing Co. edged out Lamar and Order in the final week of the season to take the 3 seed and match up with owner Monaco's Game of Jones. Sources tell the Chronicle that once Monaco secured the 6 seed, owner Roth of SPC was chomping at the bait for a matchup with Game of Jones. Said Roth, "Balding Eagle is a bucking bronco right now and I don't want to get in that rodeo just yet. I just have better luck against Tony." Roth is referencing his barn-burner Week 4 74-72 win against Game of Jones. On that Monday night, Monaco needed only 8 points to win from Amari Cooper, he put up 6.5. Roth predicts his X-factor will be none other than the WR he targeted in a trade from Monaco's bench, Jamison Crowder. The SPC front office feels this will be the difference that pushes their team through to the semifinals against Nanni and the Rhinos.

The other first round matchup kicks off Thursday with Balding Eagle and Lamar & Order. The Dak vs. Zeke matchup will set the tone for the rest of the week and will be a crucial factor in determining who will meet #1 seed Robbie Rice in the semi-finals. Owner Doc Mooney is sitting back and relaxing this week, and is not concerned about who wins this matchup. "I just stressed to my guys to lean on their teammates, pick each other up when we're down, and keep our eyes on the prize."

After finishing as the bottom 2 in the standings last year, Robbie Rice and Albhino Rhinos have both have had an amazing turnaround to secure first round byes. On the contrary, the 2 first round byes from last season, Scottish International and Mt Rushmores, have let their success get to their heads. They finish 9 and 10 respectively this year. As agreed upon before the season, Mt Rushmores owner Rush will undergo the "nanaise" last place punishment at a date TBD.
