Who's the real Mr. Blockbuster?

Five weeks of fantasy football have passed. Some teams are riding high, others are still searching for their identities. However, one team’s choices have polarized other owners as well as fans across the country.

G Is For Giants used to be a respected franchise in the Wallace Street League of Champions. After the return from his one year exodus/banning when he was replaced by Alysse, G is for Giants showed heart, determination, and at the very least, a will to win games in fantasy football. However, after all that hard work turned into years of turmoil and mediocre finishes, owner Frank Santella has made an unprecedented change; giving Yonatan Abiye, a ~20% ownership stake of his newly named team, Mr. Blockbuster. When asked about his decision, owner Santella essentially went on a tirade. He exclaimed, “Yanni will hoist my trophy,” and went on to call a fellow owner who was critical, “gay.”

The sight of two team owners appearing on the league scoreboard has caused confusion for some, as it has now become unclear who really has control over the roster and front office of Mr. Blockbuster. It is also apparently unclear what the GM's pay structure is, as owner Santella claimed 15%, but when Abiye was reached for comment, he claimed it to be 25%, including weekly winnings.

Additionally, there have been reports from around the league that GM Abiye has made trade offers on his own accord, using back-channels and SMS text to circumvent Santella in the process. When asked for comment on this topic, Abiye refused to answer. Owner Santella spoke on the subject this week to try and smooth things over, telling league sources "Yanni sometimes takes initiative, I'm OK with that". What we still do not know, is if Santella is "OK" with Abiye being GM for several other fantasy teams in other leagues. Just last week, GM Abiye was openly rooting for Chris Carson, who was playing against Mr. Blockbuster. To go along with that, Owner Santella was heard just before Week 5 kickoff on the phone with his GM, "You're back on the hot seat", after there was some disagreement over who to start in the flex. Owner Santella made the decision on his own, and put in Matt Breida who ran for an 83 yard touchdown on his first carry. Which brings us to our final question: Does Frank need a GM at all, or is he digging his own grave and making room for 2? As always, only time will tell.
