Ever watch a TV show with an amazing first 3 episodes that really captivate you, and then the 4th 5th an 6th episodes are terrible? No maybe not, but that's essentially what we're watching with Lamar and Order: RPO.
After averaging 142 points scored per week and cruising to a 3-0 record, winning each game by at least 25 points, owner Zecchino's team has hit a wall, slipped off a ledge, and fallen off a cliff in their last 3 weeks. Since week 3, Lamar and Order has failed to breach 110 points each time they've taken the field, and they've gone 0-3 in the process. The team's lack of confidence is certainly showing on and off the field. They led by 9 points, with only Aaron Rodgers left to play for Game of Jones in week 6's Battle of Easton. When asked the level of confidence he had in his team, owner Zecchino responded, "negative six." This is certain to travel down through the ranks, and affect the players in the coming weeks. But it is not just Zecchino who is to blame for the club's recent slide. Star WR and 2nd round pick Keenan Allen got off to the hottest start of any receiver in the league, averaging 24 ppg over the first 3 weeks. Since then he has scored 6.5, 3, and 4 points. When reached for comment, Zecchino called him a "supreme disappointment" and "definitely cost us at least one game", and then accused the Chargers of withholding information from the league.
Zecchino credits the skid to "a nasty combination of matchups, coaching errors and poor player performance". He also says he is looking forward to working the waivers, which we all know is what we say to spin a tough string of losses. He believes it will pay off in the long run. With so much disarray in the Zecchino camp the last 3 weeks, there are league owners now asking "We know where Lamar is, but where is the order ?". Still sitting at 3-3, just one game out of first place, there is still plenty of time to right the ship for Zecchino and his cast of characters.
