Leaky Pipes?

Sons Plumbing Co. have to repair their season, before it goes down the drain.

It’s been a muddled beginning for Wallace Street’s newest competitor. In his third year in the League of Champions, Roth vowed 2019 would be a ‘defining one.’ The rumors were he had washed himself clean from the stench that lingered after a playoff tie with Scottish International was ruled a loss.

Semi-finals 2018. Miraculously, Roth tied Scottish International on total points AND bench points. International eventually advanced on the season head-to-head tie-breaker.

Pre-draft buzz had Roth creating a culture of ‘blue-collar players’ who ‘brought their lunch pail to work.’

The sudden retirement of QB Andrew Luck reaffirmed Roth’s new identity and SONS PLUMBING CO. was established. Watson, Johnson, Carson... but then, something happened. Key plumbers started showing up late, some not at all. A disappointing Diggs. A ho hum Howard. A Week 2 loss to division rival ALBHINO RHINOS saw PLUMBING CO. score a total of 68 points and affirmed that the pipes were leaking.

Rather than watch his basement flood from a leaky receiver position, Roth dealt his most trusted plumber, Nick Chubb, in return for a proven plumber in Mike Evans. After a 3 TD, 41-point game followed by a catchless performance and loss to trade partner, Mr. Blockbuster, Evans’ acquisition may be the ‘defining’ moment in Roth's third year.  Will pressure bust pipes?  Week 6’s showdown against the revitalized Robbie Rice (4-1) will be sure to tell us more.
